2. Melody and rhythm
Hear the selected scale from root to octave.
World scales use 12-tone equal-tempered note sets. Traditional maqamat, ragas, and regional tunings may also depend on microtones, ornamentation, characteristic phrases, and melodic direction not modeled here.
Melody sound designer — shape selected instrument or sample
Instrument presets load editable synth settings. Changes below modify the selected sound; choose Custom to keep adjusting it independently. The filter, envelope and volume also shape samples.
No sample loaded. Record a single sustained note (ideally C4) or import an audio file. Sampling uses playback-rate pitch shifting, not pitch detection.
Microphone recording may require localhost or HTTPS in some browsers. If opening the HTML directly blocks microphone access, use the Import audio option instead. Your recording stays in this page and is not uploaded.
16 steps per bar. Click an empty step to add a note, or select a note to edit. Click a selected note again to remove it.
Green keys are allowed by the selected scale/chord rule. Selecting a scale changes the allowed notes; click Regenerate to create a new melody using it. Existing notes are preserved until edited or regenerated.
3. Drum machine
Edit each instrument's 16-step repeating pattern.
